Contrats to the Pilot and Dubba.  If you haven't seen or read about their recent TransAlp race, they did good over the pond.  Check out their writings...a great adventure!  Read HERE.

Transported to the northwest

Hayride hiking on what used to be a 4x4 road to that thar cabin.
Monsoon season is STRONGly here this year.  We've had a couple weeks of the craziest downpours and thunderstorms that I can remember.  Yesterday and today were by far the most nutty.  Flash of lightning and instant BOOM that seems like it should shatter your eardrums.  A tree got hit and split at the bottom of the driveway but luckily didn't catch fire since it's been so wet.  Riding the future clearcut today saw puddles where there have never been before but otherwise super tacky trails and fun cornering, and GREEN.  The wildflowers are going off right now with all of them combining in a kaleidoscope of colors down each meadow singletrack.  Pretty difficult to want to move away from this right now.
Hardly noticeable trail, hardly noticeable rider.
this is the dry front range...?

Heading home after a couple hours of riding...back by 2.  At 3, the skies opened up into one of the loudest and intense hail thunderstorms I've been lucky not to get caught in.  Definitely nickel size hail slamming against the metal roof, freaking out the horses and dogs.  They all are wondering what the did to piss Zeus off.
